Sorin Grindeanu declared during a press conference that the PSD will announce possible alliances after knowing the final results in the 2020 parliamentary elections. The first vice president of the PSD ensures that according to the data he has, the PMP will not cross the electoral threshold and will not enter the Parliament Regarding a possible collaboration with AUR, Grindeanu said that in his opinion there are very few possibilities in this regard.
The PSD National Council will take place in the middle of this week, in about two days, Grindeanu also announced, and specified that only after knowing the final results of the parliamentary elections will they be able to talk about a possible prime minister and possible alliances.
“We will see how many mandates each party has. We will be able to say who will be the prime minister, with whom we will ally ourselves to make that majority and maintain what we obtained from the popular vote of December 6,” said the first vice president of the PSD.
Asked about his opinion about the new party, the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), Grideanu said that in his opinion the PSD will not make any alliance with the AUR representatives, stating that “they are not aligned with the PSD line.”
“It was a surprise and I do not think that only for the PSD, but for everyone, the fact that this new political party has reached the electoral threshold of 5%. We don’t have much data for any of us on that party, but there is very little chance that we will ally with that party. Because the excesses I saw are not in line with the PSD line. But it is not a decision made by PSD, it is a personal opinion. The decision will be made in that National Council that took place somewhere in the middle of this week, for two days, “said Sorin Grindeanu, at a press conference held on Monday at the party headquarters.
Regarding a possible alliance with the PMP, Grindeanu said that according to the data held by the Social Democratic Party, the Popular Movement Party will not cross the electoral threshold of 5%, although Traian Băsescu announced that the PMP will enter Parliament.
“Let’s see the final results of the PMP. As everyone knows, this count is reaching the end. As far as we are concerned, PMP does not reach the electoral threshold,” concluded Grindeanu.
