Creepy images, like in apocalyptic movies, have started circulating online and the photos show a terrifying reality. A veritable convoy of funeral cars formed in Craiova, after the number of deaths caused by COVID-19 simply exploded.

This week devastated photos with a queue of mortuary cars reached the morgue of the Craiova County Hospital on social media. The photos were initially posted on Reddit and their authenticity was confirmed for Gazeta de Sud by the hospital manager, Laurențiu Ivanovici, reports to B1TV.

“We do not schedule deaths”

According to him, the photos were taken on Tuesday, when the number of deaths among patients infected by the new coronavirus was much higher than usual. He said 15 patients were taken from the hospital morgue on Tuesday, 13 of whom had been killed by COVID-19.

“We do not schedule deaths … There were many deaths on Tuesday and Wednesday. The photo was taken on Tuesday. Today I am leaving. On Tuesday, 13 deceased COVID patients were discharged, of which 5 died on Monday. Another 6 patients of COVID died on Wednesday, “the manager of SJU Craiova told the cited source.

He specified that there are also coronavirus patients among the deceased. In fact, on Tuesday, 15 patients were discharged from the hospital morgue, of which 13 deaths were associated with COVID.

“On Tuesday, 13 dead COVID patients were discharged, of which 5 died on Monday. Another 6 Covid patients died on Wednesday,” said Laurențiu Ivanovici.

According to a study by the National Institute of Public Health, published a few days ago, the main risk factors for death in patients with Covid are cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney disease and cancer. Men are more likely to die, while compromised immunity is a risk factor for death in women.

President Klaus Iohannis said on Friday that firm measures taken by the authorities will help us not to enter a “more serious phase of lockdown” after the elections. The president specified that the first results of the measures that will come into force on Monday, November 9, will only be seen in 2-3 weeks.
