Another 5,158 Romanians have been infected with coronavirus in the last 24 hours. The number of patients in intensive care remained high, with about 1,274 patients in serious condition.

Until December 19, in Romania they were confirmed 587,944 cases of infected people with the new coronavirus (COVID-19).

493,379 patients were reported healed.

After the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, there were 5,158 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), these being cases that have not previously had a positive test.

Until today, 14,296 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection died.

In the last 24 hours, 139 deaths (81 men and 58 women) were reported, of some patients infected by the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Buzău, Călărași, Caraș- Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Covasna, Dolj, Galați, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mureș, Prahova, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Tulcea, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age category 0 to 9 years, 2 deaths in the age category 30 to 39 years, 1 death in the age category 40 to 49 years, 13 deaths in the age category of age 50 to 59 years, 36 deaths in the age group 60 to 69 years, 39 deaths in the age group 70 to 79 years, and 47 deaths in the age group over 80 years.

137 of the deaths registered are of some patients who presented comorbidities, for 1 deceased patient no comorbidities were registered and for 1 deceased patient, so far no comorbidities have been reported.

1,274 people are hospitalized in intensive care.

In the last 24 hours, 25,788 tests were processed.
