The number of infections remains high over a weekend, when fewer tests have been done.

In the last 24 hours, 1,109 new cases of COVID-19 were reported out of 14,784 tests performed. Another 36 deaths have been confirmed in people infected with the new coronavirus, while 465 patients are admitted to intensive care.

As of Sunday, 103,495 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed in Romania.

43,025 patients were declared cured and 11,283 asymptomatic patients were discharged 10 days after detection.

In contrast to the newly confirmed cases, after retesting the patients who were already positive, 364 people were positively reconfirmed. The county distribution of these cases can be found in the following table.

As of Sunday, 4,163 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection had died.

Between 12.09.2020 (10:00) – 13.09.2020 (10:00) there were 36 deaths (20 men and 16 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Arad, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița- Năsăud, Brăila, Brașov, Călărași, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Olt, Prahova, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Vrancea and Bucharest.

Of these, 3 deaths were recorded in the age category 50 to 59 years, 9 deaths in the age category 60 to 69 years, 14 deaths in the age category 70 to 79 years, and 10 deaths in the age category more than 80 years.

32 of the registered deaths are from some patients who presented comorbidities, and for 4 deceased patients, no comorbidities have been reported to date.

In health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7,052. Of these, 465 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 2,081,644 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 14,784 were performed in the last 24 hours, 8,978 based on case definition and medical protocol and 5,806 upon request.

In Romania, 10,835 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated in their homes and 5,780 people are in institutional isolation. Additionally, 37,409 people are in home quarantine and 5 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 784 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55 of 05.15.2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and the gendarmerie applied, in the last 24 hours, 966 penalties for minor offenses, worth 266,100 lei.

Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday a crime was found for frustrating the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 6,599 Romanian citizens were infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,905 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2,935 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 111 in Austria, 20 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 19 in Greece, 5 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Republic of the Congo, Hungary and Qatar. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic until now, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo and one in Greece, have died.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 338 were declared cured: 308 in Germany, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
