In the last 24 hours, 3,000 new cases of COVID-19 were reported, out of 32,794 PCR tests and rapid tests. The infection rate is 9.14%. Another 116 Romanians died after becoming infected with the new coronavirus. 1,054 COVID patients are hospitalized in intensive care.

To date, on January 20, in Romania, 700,898 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

635,871 patients were declared cured.

Following tests conducted at the national level, compared to the last report, 3,000 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

The coefficient of accumulated infections at 14 days, reported per 1,000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Public Health Directorates, at the municipal and county levels of Bucharest. Here is the table prepared based on the reports received by CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:

To date, 17,485 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 19.01.2021 (10:00) – 20.01.2021 (10:00) 116 deaths were reported (71 men and 45 women), of some patients infected by the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brașov, Brăila, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Gorj, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Neceaț, Mare Sltib, Prahova, Tulcea, Vasluișorman , Vâlcea, Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age category 30 to 39 years, 2 deaths in the age category 40 to 49 years, 14 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 32 deaths in the age category of age 60 to 69 years, 35 deaths in the age group 70 to 79 years and 32 deaths in the category over 80 years.

113 of the registered deaths were of some patients who presented comorbidities and 3 deceased patients did not present comorbidities.

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 8,240. Of these, 1,054 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 5,220,200 RT-PCR tests and 57,634 rapid antigen tests have been processed nationwide. In the last 24 hours, 26,768 RT-PCR tests were performed (18,424 based on case definition and medical protocol and 8,344 upon request) and 6,026 rapid antigen tests.

Likewise, since the last information made by GCS, the results of 15 tests processed before the last 24 hours and transmitted until January 20 of this year have been reported.

In Romania, 48,894 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are isolated in their homes and 11,691 people are in institutional isolation. Additionally, 69,947 people are in home quarantine and 157 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 2,132 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 848 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially to inform the public.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and the gendarmerie applied, on January 19, 4,532 sanctions for contravention, worth 754,020 lei.

Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday a criminal record was prepared to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind the public that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where infractions to sanitary protection regulations can be notified.

The calls are answered by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 7,587 Romanian citizens were infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 1,991 in Italy, 1,570 in Spain, 173 in the United Kingdom, 125 in France, 3,110 in Germany, 93 in Greece, 49 in Denmark, 36 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 7 in Sweden, 131 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 36 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 2 in Bulgaria, 12 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 8 in the United Arab Emirates, 12 in Moldova, 3 in Montenegro, 137 in Ireland and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Republic of the Congo, Qatar, Vatican, Portugal, Egypt, Pakistan, Iran, Singapore, Slovenia, Russian Federation and Croatia.

Since the start of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic until now, 136 Romanian citizens abroad, 33 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, have died 3 in Sweden, 4 in Ireland, 2 in Switzerland, 1 in the United States, 1 in Brazil, 1 in the Republic of the Congo, 1 in Greece and 1 in Iran.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus infection, 798 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg, one in Tunisia and one in Argentine.
