The head of the ASF appointed General (r) George-Viorel Voinescu, until recently deputy director of the SRI, as chief of staff. On July 31, 2020, by presidential decree, Lieutenant General George-Viorel Voinescu was promoted to the rank of general – with four stars, relieved of the position of Deputy Director of the Romanian Intelligence Service for the area of ​​financial logistics and transferred to reservation with the new degree, as of August 1, 2020.

According to the SRI website, Lieutenant General George-Viorel Voinescu was appointed Deputy Director of the Romanian Intelligence Service on July 27, 2005. In 2007 he was awarded the rank of Brigadier General, in 2012 he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant general. as Major General, and in 2014 he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General.

Prior to his appointment as Deputy Director of SRI, he held various management positions within the Anti-Terrorist Brigade and the Financial Directorate of the Romanian Intelligence Service. In 2011 he obtained the scientific title of doctor in the field of Economics and International Affairs at the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, with the thesis entitled “The impact of terrorism on the world economy”.

Nicu Marcu, the former Vice President of the Court of Accounts, has been the President of the Financial Supervisory Authority since June 2020.
