The president of the National Council of the Social Democratic Party, Vasile Dîncu, declared this Monday, after the announcement by President Klaus Iohannis, that he has not decided who will be the candidate for the post of Prime Minister, that the Government of national union, proposed by the PSD, will not is excluded.

Vasile Dîncu stated, on Monday night, on Digi24, that the variant of a national union government is not excluded at this time.

“It would not be ruled out to even reach the solution of a national union government. It can even be discussed in this second phase, ”said Dîncu.

When asked if the PSD wants to boycott the formation of a new Parliament, Vasile Dîncu said that this is excluded.

“No way. I saw somewhere the news that we would like to boycott, but not at all. I spoke about this in the discussion with the president, only in the following sense: normally, in the negotiations that NLP and the elected partner , USR PLUS, they discussed during the weekend about the division of parliamentary committees, of functions in Parliament, this is something that is neither fair nor constitutional. These things happen in Parliament, after the constitution of Parliament. And I said because of these things we do not want to have such solutions that are neither legal nor constitutional. In no case are we talking about boycotting the formation of Parliament, “said Vasile Dîncu.

He specified that the president of the PSD, Marcel Ciolacu, said that the president of Romania also agreed that “it is necessary, at this time, to reach a consensus of the entire political class, of all the parties, to give a government and a parliament , because there are things that are going to get more and more complicated if the third wave of the pandemic arrives ”.

President Klaus Iohannis announced on Monday that the new Parliament will be constituted on December 21. The President stated that the conditions for the appointment of a candidate to form the new Government have not yet been met and that further consultations will be held.
