New details are emerging about the powerful explosion in downtown Nashville. Surveillance cameras on the streets of the area captured the moment of the explosion. Local police told a news conference that an audio message announced that the explosion would take place, according to CNN.

On Christmas morning, police responded to a call to 991 about shooting in downtown Nashville.

During the search, officers found a truck from which a recording could be heard warning that a potential bomb would be detonated in 15 minutes. Upon hearing this, the officers decided to evacuate nearby buildings, so they began knocking on doors, making evacuation announcements, and broadcasting through the emergency system to keep everyone safe. Before long, the truck exploded, “John Drake, a police officer, told a news conference.

In fact, the warning message that was heard from the truck also appears on the surveillance camera recording that captured the moment of the explosion.

“If you hear this message, evacuate the area immediately“, Could be heard in the video recording from the truck.

The explosion was so strong that witnesses mistook it for the start of an earthquake. According to the Police, several buildings have the resistance structure affected by the explosion, and everything around them suffered massive damage.

Police also say there is currently no indication that anyone was in the van at the time of the explosion. The area where the explosion occurred is still closed and police teams assisted by FBI experts are continuing the investigation.
