The World Health Organization warned Monday that the coronavirus pandemic will be worst in October and November. The Minister of Health, Nelu Tătaru, told Digi24 that, in the case of Romania, “the months of fire will be like we do,” calling for compliance with the anti-COVID rules: wear a protective mask and respect physical distance .

“We are in the second phase of the first wave or the second hump. We are on that plateau that we intend to maintain in these two weeks, 10-14 days in which we see the effect from the start of school, an effect that we must have. We see it among children, but also among teachers.

Obeying the rules should leave us on the same plateau with relatively little growth from day to day. The context of following the rules remains the cornerstone of everything that follows. The conditions in which we are going towards the beginning of October and we see that we manage well the start of this school and the continuation of the educational period may cause us to have a decrease in the number of cases towards the second half of October-November. Let’s not forget that the cold season will come, let’s not forget that the flu season will come, let’s not forget that there are comorbidities. We have to take care of everything. The months of fire will be as we do, ”said Nelu Tătaru.

Europe must prepare for the increase in the daily number of deaths caused by COVID-19 in October and November, the World Health Organization (WHO) warned on Monday.

“It just came to our attention then. Mortality will increase in October, November.”said Hans Kluge, director of the WHO European office, according to Euronews.

Many European countries have recently tightened restrictions, while the number of new Covid cases is increasing, but the number of deaths has remained stable.
