All schools in Cluj-Napoca are closing as a result of the increase in the COVID-19 infection rate to 3.02 per thousand inhabitants. At the same time, cultural institutions will be closed.

Within a maximum period of 48 hours after exceeding the rate of 3, local authorities must take new measures to prevent COVID-19 diseases.

Practically, the measures include: change to scenario 3 of pre-university education units, mandatory mask in all open spaces, closure of restaurants and cafes inside (terraces and stays at home or to take away), closure of gaming activities and closure of the program to the public for cinemas and cultural institutions. We have 48 hours since we exceed an incidence threshold to act ”, says the prefect.

Among the students, 126 cases of disease due to the new coronavirus were confirmed, from 58 educational units and 54 infections among teachers from 41 educational units. Most students learn in the hybrid system, both online and physically. In 31 schools, learning takes place exclusively online.

Measures that could be implemented in Cluj-Napoca tomorrow

-The use of a protective mask, covering the nose and mouth, is mandatory for all people who have reached the age of 5, in all open public spaces;
-The activity with the public of economic operators that carry out activities of preparation, marketing and consumption of food or alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, such as restaurants and cafes, inside buildings is prohibited;
-The activity of restaurants and cafes in hotels, pensions or other accommodation units is allowed for the people staying;
– activity with the public of authorized operators in the field of gambling is prohibited;
-it is prohibited to organize and carry out the activity in cinemas, entertainment institutions and / or concerts;
-Temporary suspension of teaching activities that involve face-to-face presence in schools, the courses will be taught online.
