Prime Minister Florin Cîțu declared on Wednesday, when asked about the disadvantages with Health Minister Vlad Voiculescu, that by publishing the vaccination data, “the idea was formed in public opinion” that people who would not have been eligible were vaccinated. “I do not believe that these accusations are real. Those who published these data should explain them,” he told the prime minister.
Florin Cîțu explained that there is no “difference” between him and Vlad Voiculescu, that he supports transparency, but the published data must be explained.
“There is no difference between Vlad Voiculescu and me on any issue. The publication of the database is something that the Ministry of Health has done. We have been notified and for any notification, we must see how it should be resolved. I am not a specialist. From my point of view, the issue is over ”, declared the prime minister.
Asked repeatedly about the public scandal related to the publication of vaccination data, the prime minister said that all the information presented by the Ministry of Health should be explained, especially that there were suspicions in the public space that people who should not have been vaccinated were vaccinated.
“I saw some conclusions in the public space. I understand that the idea was formed in public opinion that military personnel who should not have been vaccinated should be vaccinated. If there are suspicions, those who present the databases, those who published these data, explain. The vaccination campaign is a successful campaign in Romania. Now we have new data to explain. I don’t think these accusations are real, ”the prime minister also declared.
Florin Cîțu said that he has not yet evaluated the activity of the Minister of Health and that he is waiting for “some reports.” The prime minister also announced that, “probably today”, he will present the conclusions of the Control Corps in relation to the fire in Matei Balş.
Florin Cîțu’s reaction comes after he was asked on Monday to verify how the Health Ministry, led by Vlad Voiculescu, published data on the pandemic and the vaccination campaign. The data released by the ministry also contains information on personnel from the army and other state institutions, data that needs approval from the institutions to be released.
According to some government sources, by publishing the respective data, Minister Vlad Voiculescu would have intentionally taken up an issue on which, in the past, he had a conflict with both the prime minister and the coordinator of the vaccination campaign, Valeriu Gheoghiță, the of vaccines. “Over the line”.
