The discovery of the military “relic” was made by several locals from the commune of Lunca Cernii de Jos. Only a small part of the object was visible, among the bushes, on a hill in the village of Negoiu (commune of Lunca Cernii de Jos).

On Monday, specialists from the Hunedoara Emergency Situations Inspectorate and the police came to the scene and investigated the piece. It is not known exactly how it got to the site in the Poiana Ruscă Mountains, but some locals reported that the rocket was launched three decades ago, during the December 1989 Revolution, from the anti-aircraft military base in Vadu Dobrii.
