The story behind the images is equally spectacular. In 1981, Queen made a tour of Argentina and Brazil, entitled “The Game Tour”, to promote his album “The Game”, released in 1980.

Mercury invited him to Maradona, recently transferred to Boca and already a rising star, to appear on stage at Queen’s last concert in Buenos Aires, in March 8, 1981. Legend has it that the two got along very well, similar in many ways. They were both successful, they had come a long way to get to the top, and they loved to party.
Diego Maradona agreed and appeared on stage wearing a T-shirt with the flag of Great Britain, while Mercury he wore the number ten of the “pumas”.
Diego Maradona: “Thanks Freddie!”
“I want to introduce you to a friend of yours and ours tonight. Surely you already know him: Maradona!”. This is how the presentation sounded Mercury he did it to him Diego, to the applause of the Buenos Aires public.
“I want to thank Freddie and the Queen for making me so happy.”, answered Maradona. The Pibe D’Oro then he entered the play “Another Bites the Dust”, after which he retired behind the scenes.
Then, Maradona was criticized in Argentina, because a year later, famous people began Falklands War. A military conflict between United Kingdom Y Argentina, on the subject of the Falkland Islands.
The war itself lasted from April to June 1982, but relations between the two countries were always cold, due to this territory in the South Atlantic.
