French doctors believe the new coronavirus is already circulating in the country in late December. This conclusion was drawn after a patient who was hospitalized in a hospital in the Paris region on December 27 was subsequently diagnosed, EFE reports Monday.
Yves Cohen, head of intensive care at Avicenne de Bobigny and Jean Verdier de Bondy hospitals, revealed in an interview with France Info radio on Monday that the case was discovered in a retrospective evaluation of PCR tests performed on 24 hospitalized patients in December and January with pneumonia, writes agerpres.ro.

PCR samples were taken from a patient admitted to the Jean Verdier Hospital, which were recently analyzed and tested positive for COVID-19.
The man, who had not made trips that would have caused the contagion abroad, was ill for 15 days, and the two sons and his wife were also infected.

This supposes that the wife, being asymptomatic, could be at the origin of the contagion of the whole family. Especially since he worked in a supermarket fishery, where there are a lot of Chinese customers.
The findings will be published in a magazine next week.

The Ile-de-France Regional Health Agency will analyze this hypothesis, which seems to confirm the theory that the new coronavirus was already circulating in France before the first cases were registered, officially registered on January 24.
