According to doctors at the hospital, his condition is stable, but the boy’s lungs are severely damaged.

The boy was diagnosed with Kawasaki syndrome, a condition associated with young children infected with COVID-19.

The symptoms appeared over the weekend, when the eight-year-old began to have a fever and was not feeling well. Initially he was admitted to the Buzau Hospital, but his condition worsened, for which he was transferred to a medical unit in the Capital.

On Wednesday, across the country, more than 1,700 people were reported to have been infected with coronavirus in 24 hours, making it the blackest number to date.
