Claudia Alivernini, a 29-year-old Italian nurse, is the first person in her country to receive the coronavirus vaccine. In his case there were some “side effects”.
And not precisely because of the vaccine itself, but because of some people who criticized her for being vaccinated: the young woman received threats and insults on social networks. According to the newspaper Il Messaggero, the young woman had to endure all kinds of comments from anti-vaccines to the point where she closed her Facebook page.
“I did not expect so much damage, so much hatred, so much poison and rage, but I would do it again immediately (no, I would be vaccinated again), I would do it a thousand times moreover, for all my colleagues who died to help others, for all those who lost their lives because of Covid-19. I saw that many, too many patients disappear … “, Alivernini told the Italian newspaper.
This is not the first time that attacks on vaccines have occurred in Italy.
In the first wave of the pandemic, in April, the Spallanzani Institute, where the nurse works, suffered a cyber attack.
“Now let’s see when you die” was one of the worst comments received by the young woman, who, for her part, received the support of her colleagues and the health sector in general.
“As a health worker, what you have to do is vaccination. The insults have not made me change my mind,” said Alivernini, who explained that in addition to the threats and insults, some doubted the veracity of the photos. appears to have been vaccinated.
“They asked if the photos of the vaccine were true. Someone said that the needle was not there, others speculated that those images were not made at that time … issues from the field of absurdity,” added the nurse.
