A few hours after its pompous inauguration, on the first section of the highway in the Moldavian area, holes have already appeared.
Pieces of asphalt broke on one section of the road and some drivers even had to change their tires. Those at the Road Infrastructure Company blame a “Manufacturing error, at some point, of a bridge”.
Shortly after the opening of the first 17 kilometers of motorway in the Moldavian area, the telephones of companies that deal with car damage began to ring.
Journalist: How many interventions have you had?
Teodor Nastasa – representative of the intervention company: “There were six interventions during the night.”
Journalist: What damage was reported?
Teodor Nastasa : „Broken tires. The problem arose from the blows with certain blunt bodies, respectively pieces of asphalt ”.
The damages can amount to hundreds of euros, if the tires are also damaged.
“This is a tire hit in a hole at very high speed. Think about what such a significant pressure drop at 100 km / h means.” says a damaged driver.
Adrian Râpă – Mechanical engineer: “The danger can be from a single component, the wrong tire or rim, to a broken suspension or, worse, an accident with serious consequences.”
Representatives for Road Infrastructure Management Company say it was “a manufacturing error at the point of a bridge” and say it is now possible to drive safely, after emergency repairs have been made. However, the works are not ready, they still have to be installed together, so the traffic speed is limited to 90 km / h.
The Bacau Ring Road is part of the Moldavian Highway, which has a total length of about 350 kilometers and will connect Muntenia with the main counties of Moldova. Works on the highway could be ready in 2026, authorities estimate.
