In the last 24 hours, 1,387 new cases of COVID-19 infection were detected, out of 4,352 tests. 85 people died in the same period and the number of patients admitted to intensive care units throughout the country is 1,210.

To date, on December 26, in Romania, 613,760 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed. 536,332 patients were declared cured.

Following nationwide testing, compared to the last report, 1,387 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) were recorded, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

The coefficient of accumulated infections at 14 days, reported per 1,000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Public Health Directorates, at the municipal and county levels of Bucharest. Here is the table prepared based on the reports received by CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:

Apart from the recently confirmed cases, after retesting patients who were already positive, 150 people were positively reconfirmed.

To date, 15,108 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 25.12.2020 (10:00) – 26.12.2020 (10:00), 85 deaths (47 men and 38 women) were reported, of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Bacău, Bihor , Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brașov, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Gorj, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Olt, Sălaj, Sibiu, Timiș, Bucharest, Vaslui.

Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age category 30 to 39 years, 1 death in the age category 40 to 49 years, 4 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 21 deaths in the age category age 60 to 69 years, 35 deaths in the age category 70 to 79 years and 23 deaths in the category over 80 years.

81 of the deaths registered are of some patients who presented comorbidities, for 3 deceased patients no comorbidities were registered and for 1 deceased patient, no comorbidities have been reported to date.

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 is 9,657. Of these, 1,210 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 4,710,842 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 4,352 were performed in the last 24 hours, 3,732 based on the case definition and medical protocol, and 620 upon request.

In Romania, 37,552 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated in their homes and 9,532 people are in institutional isolation. Additionally, 57,380 people are in home quarantine and 127 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 1,895 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on December 25 of this year, 3,825 penalties for minor offenses, in the amount of 793,465 lei.
Also, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday a crime was found to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.

„We remind the public that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection regulations can be notified. The calls are answered by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified aspects ”, shows GCS.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 7,044 Romanian citizens were infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 1,939 in Italy, 1,290 in Spain, 167 in the United Kingdom, 125 in France, 3,085 in Germany, 93 in Greece, 49 in Denmark, 36 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the US, 4 in Sweden, 123 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia , 11 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 2 in Bulgaria, 10 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 8 in the United Arab Emirates, 12 in Moldova, 2 in Montenegro and one in Argentina , Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Republic of Congo, Qatar, Vatican, Portugal, Egypt and Russian Federation.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 128 Romanian citizens abroad, 33 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece, they have died.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus infection, 798 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg, one in Tunisia and one in Argentine.
