The driver who caused the accident in the Andronache neighborhood of Bucharest, as a result of which two girls died, had consumed alcohol, according to Digi24 sources.
Before getting behind the wheel, the woman had consumed alcohol, but below the limit from which the act is considered a crime, shows the result of biological samples taken and analyzed by INML.
According to the cited sources, the woman had a blood alcohol level of 0.6 g / l in her blood, but these are samples taken three hours after the accident. In this case, a retroactive calculation will be performed to determine the blood alcohol level at the time of impact.
The driver was not tested with the breathalyzer at the scene of the accident because she refused, citing health problems. Later they did a blood test at the hospital.
In the event of an accident, alcohol consumption, even if the blood alcohol level is below the limit for the act to be considered a crime (0.8 g / l in blood), is an aggravating factor.
The 56-year-old driver is under investigation for wrongful death and was cited again Monday. According to Digi24, he told police that he lost control of the steering wheel, admitted that he did not drive too often and that he mistook the pedals.
The night from Saturday to Sunday he could not give an explanation to the prosecutors due to his condition. Prosecutors said she was in shock and beaten. Under these conditions, after three hours, he was allowed to leave, postponing the hearing.
The accident it took place on Saturday night, on Mențiunii Street in the north of the capital. The driver lost control of the steering wheel, entered a pole, then a fence, the car crushed two girls who were on the sidewalk. Both were rushed to hospital, but doctors were unable to save them.
The policemen who saw the images on the video cameras say that the car came at a very high speed.
