The contagion rate in the Capital reached 6.37 per thousand on Wednesday. The meeting of the Municipal Committee on Emergency Situations was postponed to Thursday, on the grounds that the proposals coming from the health authorities should be analyzed.

UPGRADE: The institution of the Prefect of Bucharest announced on Wednesday that so far no information has been received from DSP and INSP. For this reason, it has not yet been decided to convene the Bucharest Municipal Committee for Emergency Situations.

Initially, the meeting of the Committee on Emergency Situations of the Municipality of Bucharest (CMBSU), in which the extension of the current measures was to be established, should have taken place on Sunday, March 21, according to an announcement made a week ago by the Capital Prefect, Alin Stoica.

Subsequently, it was decided to convene the Bucharest Municipal Committee for Emergency Situations for Wednesday, March 24. Then it was postponed to Thursday.

President Klaus Iohannis announced on Wednesday that, in his view, additional restrictions are needed in Bucharest, especially in areas where congestion occurs, due to the increasing number of new cases of Covid-19 diseases.

If initially there were several proposals aimed at reducing the opening hours of the stores, now, according to sources from PRO TV News, DSP would propose to maintain the current programming of stores, that is, to close at 9:00 p.m. However, DSP wants to keep these programs operational with several conditions: that the merchants control very well the number of people who can enter the stores, so that there is 4 square meters for each person who makes their purchases in that place.

Furthermore, DSP would like to close the playgrounds in Bucharest and ban all sports competitions for amateurs and continue to allow only those for professionals.

Another proposal discussed in the Municipal Committee for Emergency Situations refers to private events. In this case, the recommendation of health specialists would be that for weddings, baptisms, weddings and funerals, the maximum number of people who can participate should be 16.

It is important to mention that during the discussions on the new restrictions to be imposed in Bucharest, they refer to the terraces, whether they are open or not. It seems that specialists recommend keeping the terraces open, but with strict rules, that is, respect the rules of spacing and disinfection.

On the other hand, we know with certainty at this time that neither the local authorities nor the Government want a total quarantine for Bucharest and solutions are being sought to prevent this from happening.

In fact, the Minister of Health said on Tuesday that this variant of quarantine of the Capital will not be in force in the next period.

Today’s debates will be made public tomorrow, as well as the date from which they will come into force.
