The leadership of the PNL appointed on the night of Tuesday, December 23, the list of ministers that will be part of the future government headed by Prime Minister Florin Citu. Shortly before, the partners of the USR-PLUS coalition had announced their nominations, and those of the UDMR made public the names of those who will occupy the reserved portfolios from Monday, December 21.

The National Political Bureau of the PNL met on Tuesday afternoon, starting at 10:30 p.m., in a videoconference system, to discuss and validate the list of the nine liberal ministers of the Citu Cabinet, which would be presented to Parliament, together with the proposals of the other parties of the ruling coalition, USR-PLUS and UDMR, and the ruling program.

63 members of the Permanent National Office voted in favor of the list of ministers of the PNL. Florin Roman and Ilie Bolojan voted against. There were also five abstentions, including Emil Boc, Rares Bogdan and Robert Sighiartau. NLP leader Orban was criticized for leading the negotiations by some BPN representatives. The first vice president of the PNL, Rares Bogdan, but also Florin Roman accused Ludovic Orban of handing over important ministries just to secure the presidency of the Chamber of Deputies.

Bogdan rarely blamed the transfer of the Ministry of Development, and Roman accused Orban of trying to intimidate him and threatened to tour Romania to tell mayors that he had sold the party to the position of Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies. Equally vocal was Robert Sighiartaru, a candidate for a ministerial chair, who warned that he would not vote for the proposed list.

The new NLP ministers are Sorin Cimpeanu, Alexandru Nazare and Raluca Turcan, and Lucian Bode, former head of Transport, takes over the Ministry of the Interior.

Scandal at the party

The leader of the PNL, Ludovic Orban, responded to the accusations stating that although the PNL did not obtain the largest number of votes in the elections – the reasons will be established – it assumed to govern, and that was its mandate, to form a government coalition, objective that was fulfilled, say sources of the NLP.

On the fact that the PNL lost the Ministry of European Funds, Orban claimed that Marcel Bolos was a very good minister, but that he could not continue.

He called everyone who believed he had resigned from his position as liars.
The PNL leader argued that the social effect would be devastating if the government was not installed before the end of the year.

He claimed that Sighiartau refused to be Minister of Development and had nothing to do.
Ludovic Orban specified that the situation in the party will be resolved in the next congress, but warned that he will not be judged by “people without results.”

Rarely Bogdan, Florin Roman and Robert Sighiartau, the last two who circulated as potential ministers in the Citu Government, launched harsh accusations against Ludovic Orban at the BPN meeting, whom they again reproached for negotiating badly within the ruling coalition and for he gave important ministries in order to obtain for himself the position of president of the Chamber of Deputies, declared liberal sources for News.ro.

Rare Bogdan’s attack

The First Vice President, Rares Bogdan, said he was extremely disappointed and announced that he would not vote for the list of ministers, and reproached that the names of the ministers were found on television.
“The role in the House is important, but not selling everything,” Rares Bogdan said.

Florin Román accused the leader of the PNL of threatening him through intermediaries and threatening him to travel through Romania to tell the mayors that the party had sold them for the position of president of the Chamber.

Emil Boc and Robert Sighiartau reproached Ludovic Orban that although the NLP promised to develop Romania, this slogan was emptied of content precisely when the ministries through which this objective could have been achieved were ceded.

Sighiartau warned that he would vote against the list of ministers, noting that the PNL had never negotiated worse. Among Orban’s few supporters were Dan Valceanu and Vlad Nistor.

The Government list and the governing program will be presented on the morning of Wednesday, December 23 at around 8:00 a.m. to Parliament, the meeting of the Permanent Tables meeting will take place between 9:00 and 10:00, with the in order to establish the hearing schedule for the proposed ministers. After the opinion of the commissions, the plenary meeting would take place for the investment of the new Government, after which the new ministers will take the oath before President Klaus Iohannis.

On Tuesday, President Klaus Iohannis appointed Florin Citu to the post of Prime Minister, and the decision was published in the Official Gazette, and Citu had 10 days to present the government team and the program in Parliament.
