The sidewalk on the Ciurel Passage ramp that connects Șoseaua Virtuții and Splaiul Independenței was demolished on Wednesday, following the appearance of some images with buses forced to walk on two wheels on the sidewalk. The Bucharest City Council has now announced that the demolition is part of the project and is not additional work.

Initially, the directions on the hard shoulder connecting the Virtuții Boulevard and the Ciurel Passage were separated by pillars, but the buses could not turn around without going up the sidewalk. Later, those pillars were removed, so that the bus could turn around without going up the sidewalk. The opposite direction was non-existent, since that direction had not been opened.

On Wednesday, the sidewalk of the Ciurel Passage, which connects Virtue Road and Splaiul Independenței, was demolished. The Bucharest City Council states that the works currently being carried out on the ramp are part of the project and there are no additional works.

According to the City Council, “thus, within the project, the Virtue Road extension strip in the direction of Crângași-Lujerului is carried out, in accordance with the plans for this objective. The Brace B will be connected to the extended road. To ensure the functionality of the Node until completion of district heating / sewerage works “.
