A stabbing took place in the French city of Nice. At least three people were killed and several more injured after a knife-wielding suspect attacked them in a downtown cathedral. One of the victims was beheaded.
UPDATE 11:45. According to a new balance sheet, three people died, and the attacker is seriously injured. The investigation was assumed by the Antiterrorist Prosecutor’s Office.
President Emmanuel Macron is expected to arrive at the scene of the attack.
After the attack, the suspect tried to hide in the church bathroom. The police found him and opened fire. Witnesses said that even during the first medical treatment, the man did not stop saying “Allah Akbar”.

According to the French press, the man attacked several people with a knife on Thursday morning at the Notre Dame church in Nice. At least two people died, a man and a woman. The woman was beheaded.
Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin announced that a crisis meeting had been called.
Police shot the suspect and took him to hospital.
The attack occurred on Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m. local time.
The mayor of Nice announced that the attack appears to be terrorist in nature.
The new attack follows the one in Paris two weeks ago, when a history teacher was beheaded in the street after showing children cartoons of the prophet Muhammad. The terrorist attack in Paris was committed by an 18-year-old Chechen, born in Moscow, who was not registered as radicalized.
Nice was also the scene of a terrible attack, in 2016, which left 86 dead and hundreds injured.
