Subway traffic was blocked Wednesday morning on Highway 1 due to a medical emergency that required SMURD intervention, Metrorex reports. The platform at Unirii 1 station has become too small for the hundreds of passengers trapped in the station.
Metrorex informs that today, 07.10.2020, starting at 07:05, on line 1 of the metro, the movement of the underground trains was carried out with difficulty due to causes independent and unwanted by Metrorex (medical emergency that required the intervention of SMURD crews, who operated on-site – by train, in accordance with medical procedures). To ensure the movement of other passengers, the train traffic was carried out in a pendulum system between the Piaţa Unirii 1 and Timpuri Noi stations ”, a Metrorex statement shows.
Hundreds of passengers were stranded on the platform, which became increasingly crowded as people continued to arrive at the station. Police cordoned off the car where the incident occurred.
According to Metrorex, as of 07:50 the train traffic resumed under normal conditions.
