On Friday, however, Gabriel Luca returned home. “It just came to our attention then. We are continuing investigations to detect the factual situation,” said the spokesman for the Iași County Police Inspectorate.

The mayor of the Costuleni commune, Mirică Dodan, told Libertatea that the man went to a sheepfold near the Țibănești commune in Iași county, but also that the mayor’s office issued all the documents certifying that he was found death, including death certificate.

The mayor assures that he also consulted, from the Police, a photo with the body of the buried man instead of Costuleni’s man and says that the resemblance is striking.

“I asked the police to see what the dead man looks like and to know that he looks like him. He had gone to a sheepfold, they found him missing, I found him in Old Jijia, the closed canal. They said he was ours and they buried him Now, the family has spent a lot of money on the funeral and I understand that she is a bit upset with him because they don’t have much income, they can’t afford that expense. According to the mayor, in the commune of Costuleni there are no other people missing or declared missing with whom the man declared dead is confused in the police records.
