Such “strangeness” is represented by prices. “I often see higher prices in Cluj than in Barcelona or Palma de Mallorca. I know that Cluj is the second city in the country economically and culturally speaking, but the prices are exaggerated anyway. For example, when I wanted to buy an apartment, I I realized that prices were often higher than in large Spanish cities. I was even more amazed that there were apartments on the outskirts of the city at prices comparable to those in central or semi-central Barcelona. When a real estate agent found me He presented the prices, I realized that in Barcelona I could find this money and in the center ”, explains the Spaniard.

In the end, he rented a house in a quiet neighborhood on the outskirts of Cluj, for which he paid almost half a million euros. But before, he says, he had flirted with the idea of ​​buying a smaller apartment in the central area, but quickly gave up when he saw the prices.

A few days ago, he ran a simulation to see to what extent apartment prices were affected by the pandemic crisis. “I was surprised to see a one-bedroom apartment in Cluj, a kind of studio, for 155.00 euros. Also now an identical apartment is sold in the center of Barcelona for 110.00 euros, while in Palma de Mallorca we find a three-bedroom apartment for 118,000 euros.
