The autumn political movement will be led by Victor Ponta and Călin Popescu Tăriceanu. Pro Romania will merge with ALDE, it is a merger by absorption and the new party will enter the race for parliamentary elections in this way.

Both Pro Romania and ALDE have convened their senior management forums and the merger will be announced by Victor Ponta together with Călin Popescu Tăriceanu, during a joint conference, which will begin at 5:00 p.m.
According to our sources, one of the options discussed and very close to being agreed is for the new party to be called “Pro Social-Liberal Romania”.
The leader of the new party will be Victor Ponta, while Călin Popescu Tăriceanu will be the president of the National Council, that is, the number 2 man in the party and who will coordinate various structures of the newly established party.
Regarding the organization in the territory, it will follow a co-presidency system, with a leader from Pro Romania and one from ALDE.
Once the questions of principle have been established, the “wedding” will be formalized in a Congress organized separately and later in a first Congress of the new party.
