PNL, USR-PLUS and UDMR have reached a commitment to the formation of a government coalition, according to PRO TV News sources.
Thus, USR-PLUS accepts the option with Prime Minister Florin Cîțu and Ludovic Orban at the head of the Chamber of Deputies, in exchange for several ministries, a number almost equal to that of PNL.
The same coalition sources say that the government’s formula would be 8-7-3 (8 for PNL, 7 for USR-PLUS and 3 for UDMR). In addition to the large number of ministries, USR-PLUS would also receive significant portfolios with government approval. They are in question: financing, development and justice, which affirms USR-PLUS.
Dissatisfaction in NLP
Discontent arose in the PNL over the fact that Ludovic Orban insists on having the position of president of the Chamber of Deputies, and in negotiations with USR-PLUS and UDMR he leaves too many ministries to the partners, party sources told News. ro.
At the same time, with regard to the Ministry of Development, the president of the PNL would have asked Ion Ştefan to continue having the portfolio also in the future government, added the cited sources.
One of the options discussed on Friday in the PNL-USR PLUS-UDMR negotiations to form a government coalition includes eight ministries for the NLP, the liberals claim, among others, Defense, Foreign Relations, Finance, Justice and Transportation.
Six other portfolios would return to USR-PLUS, including Education, Health and Labor, but USR also wants Finance or Justice. The UDMR would have three ministries, including Communications and Agriculture, political sources told News.ro.
Thus, the cited sources affirm that PNL claims Defense, External, Internal, Justice, Development, Transportation, EU Funds and Finance.
In turn, the USR-PLUS Alliance would maintain the Health, Education, Culture, Energy / Economy, Labor, Environment portfolios.
USR-PLUS also wants Justice or Finance, but NLP doesn’t seem willing to give up either of them.
The UDMR would have the ministries of Agriculture, Communications and Youth and Sports.
Negotiations continue in Villa Lac

Virtually each of the parties has now expressed its mandate. We are back at the negotiating table. The talks on the political aspect will continue tomorrow. At today’s meeting, each side expressed some flexibility in finding that common ground through which to form the coalition. We are available to find a solution that will really make a stable coalition, “Barna said Thursday afternoon.
The leader of the UDMR, Kelemen Hunor, said that all solutions remain on the table and is convinced that by the end of this year we will have no government.
“We will continue these discussions, because it is almost the only good solution for Romania and I am convinced that, in fact, this majority made up of PNL, USR-PLUS and UDMR is the only solution.” All solutions remain on the table from a political point of view and we will find a balance until the end of the negotiations at all levels: Parliament, Government.
