Sorin Grindeanu announced that he will resign as president of ANCOM, following the motion of no confidence.
Sorin Grindeanu stated that, in September, he will resign from the position of president of the National Authority for Administration and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM), following the transposition into Romanian law of the Romania-United States memorandum on 5G technology.
Recently returned to PSD, as first vice president, Sorin Grindeanu was asked at a press conference on Sunday if he will resign from ANCOM.
“From the moment I entered the incompatibility (…) with the return to PSD, according to the law I have 90 days to choose and get out of the incompatibility. I tell you as frankly as possible that I made the decision. So in September, I am not waiting 90 days, I will resign from ANCOM ”, said Sorin Grindeanu.
“Why do I think I have to stay two or three weeks? Because at this moment, the bill for the transposition of the memorandum with the United States, signed last summer, in Romanian legislation, is in public debate, in decisional transparency. This is what I want to get back on track. A lot of work has been done, there have been many discussions at ministerial level. I think that in the next two or three weeks this project will enter parliamentary debate, in a way that transposes in the most The memorandum signed last summer between the Government of the United States and Romania is clearly possible ”, added Grindeanu, according to Agerpres.
Grindeanu also mentioned that he is a ‘total supporter’ of the respective memo.
