In the last 24 hours, 5,009 new cases of COVID-19 infection were detected, out of 23,844 tests, which means a positive rate of 21%. Another 155 people died and the number of patients admitted to ATI is 1,252.

To date, on December 22, in Romania, 598,792 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.
508,979 patients were declared cured.

Following nationwide testing, compared to the last report, 5,009 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were recorded, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

The coefficient of accumulated infections at 14 days, reported per 1,000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Public Health Directorates, at the municipal and county levels of Bucharest. Here is the table prepared based on the reports received by CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:

Apart from the recently confirmed cases, after retesting the patients who were already positive, 1,019 people were positively reconfirmed.

To date, 14,636 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 21.12.2020 (10:00) – 22.12.2020 (10:00) 155 deaths were reported (101 men and 54 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brăila, Buzău, Călărași, Cluj, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Gorj, Harghita, Ialomița, Maramureș, Mureș, Olt, Prahova, Mare, Sâșlava, Sat Surance, Välcea, Sat Surance Ilfov and Bucharest.

Of these, 6 deaths were recorded in the age category 40 to 49 years, 9 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 37 deaths in the age category 60 to 69 years, 53 deaths in the age category of age 70 to 79 years. years and 50 deaths in the category over 80 years.

151 of the deaths registered are of some patients who presented comorbidities, for 1 deceased patient no comorbidities were registered and for 3 deceased patients, no comorbidities have been reported so far.

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 is 11,117. Of these, 1,252 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 4,630,874 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 23,834 were performed in the last 24 hours, 16,036 based on case definition and medical protocol and 7,798 upon request.

Likewise, since the last information made by GCS, the results of 10 tests processed before the last 24 hours and delivered until December 22 have been reported.

In Romania, 40,211 people confirmed with a new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home and 10,412 people are in institutional isolation. In addition, 57,815 people are in home quarantine and 162 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 3,610 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 972 of the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially to inform the public.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on December 21 of this year, 6,535 penalties for minor infractions, worth 1,329,821 lei.

Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday 4 crimes were found to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact provided and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 7,043 Romanian citizens were infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 1,938 in Italy, 1,290 in Spain, 167 in Great Britain, 125 in France, 3,085 in Germany, 93 in Greece, 49 in Denmark, 36 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 4 in Sweden, 123 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 11 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 2 in Bulgaria, 10 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 8 in the United Arab Emirates, 12 in Moldova, 2 in Montenegro and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Republic of the Congo, Qatar, Vatican, Portugal, Egypt and the Russian Federation.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 128 Romanian citizens abroad, 33 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece, they have died.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus infection, 798 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg, one in Tunisia and one in Argentine.
