Used cars sold in the country for less than 2,000 euros come from “scrap metal” in Germany and represent a great financial and road safety risk for those who buy them, said the founder of InspectorAuto.ro, Mihai Cune.
“Once the environmental seal is removed, any barriers against these old cars sold at car prices are removed, so the only filter remains customer surveillance and extensive pre-purchase verification,” added Cune.
About 60% of used cars have various problems, need expensive repairs, or are simply not recommended because, after full damage, they have been poorly repaired or have so many defects that buying is disadvantageous. Cune cautioned that in the case of very cheap and affordable cars, the repairs may even exceed the value of the car, News.ro writes.
