Reversal of the situation in the negotiations for the formation of the PNL-USR PLUS-UDMR government. After the meeting between Orban-Iohannis and the offer made by Dan Barna to the NLP to unblock the talks, the president of the Liberals would have put on the table of future partners a variant that shocked them and their fellow party members: he would return to the office of prime minister.
Political sources affirm that Orban would have explained that it is possible to revoke Florin Cîțu from the position of prime minister proposed by the PNL, respectively the National Political Bureau of the party to make another proposal.
In this situation, USR PLUS would have the right to receive the position of President of the Chamber of Deputies, by Dan Barna, and the discussions would be unblocked, since Orban, who until now pointed to that position, would receive the first position. Minister.
According to our information, those of USR PLUS had learned of this maneuver by Ludovic Orban on Monday night, when, apparently, the president of the PNL would have tried to obtain the support of his party leaders for the second sacrifice of Florin Cîțu.
USR PLUS reportedly asked for time to decide how to proceed in this new situation, while Ludovic Orban is trying to gain support for a possible nomination as prime minister.
In this regard, he held a meeting with the parliamentarians of the national minorities, who can secure 18 votes in the inauguration of the Government.
Ludovic Orban summoned the NLP leaders to an informal meeting at the party headquarters. Party sources assure that they intend to call the BPN meeting tomorrow to withdraw Florin Cîțu’s nomination.
The second option: technocratic prime minister
A second scenario is being considered within the NLP, in case the liberals do not support the nomination of Ludovic Orban, again, for the post of prime minister.
Thus, a technocratic prime minister could be nominated to unlock the negotiations. In this variant, the names of Marcel Boloș, Minister of European Funds and that of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bogdan Aurescu, circulate.
In this way, Ludovic Orban would receive the position of president of the Chamber of Deputies, because that of prime minister would cease to belong to a political party.
