The FCSB story turns into a detective novel. The club announced on the day of its departure to Serbia that it has seven infected people, following the test commissioned by UEFA. According to some data, the club would have hidden two cases of COVID and would have asked since last Thursday in UEFA what happens if a coach tests positive. The European forum has unofficially confirmed the whole story.
“What to do if a coach makes us sick?” That was the question that FCSB officials allegedly sent to UEFA on Thursday. Or the seven cases of COVID were announced only on the day of departure to Serbia, for the match with Backa Topola of the second preliminary round of the Europa League.
The cited source says that the club sponsored by Gigi Becali would have registered two cases of COVID, among the squad, two days before the match with FC Voluntari, played on Saturday. The tests were conducted on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 and the results arrived on Thursday, September 10, 2020.
The Public Health Directorate did not consider it a problem, so the training sessions and the match with FC Voluntari were carried out according to the program, without the two people. The LPF had no objection either, in the context of the regulations that came into force at the start of the championship. DSP and LPF did not comment on this issue.
He asked FCSB at UEFA how he can replace the coach.
GSP ensures that FCSB did not have to ask on Thursday what happens if a coach is infected, because only today, officially, the list of people who have problems was announced. And only on the day of his departure to Serbia was he informed that Toni Petrea and Thomas Neubert have coronavirus.
„What are the rules for replacing Covid-affected coaches? The protocol is clear when it comes to players, but the staff are not very clear about how we should proceed. “, would have been the question of the FCSB.
UEFA would have unofficially confirmed the correspondence with the Romanian club. “They contacted us to explain who they could have on the bench in case of illness of one or more coaches. I replied that there are no special conditions related to the licenses of the coaches who replace the sick “, sources from the European forum said.
For European Cup matches, UEFA has implemented a special regime. The tests are carried out only with clinics approved by the European forum. This is what has happened in the case of FCSB.
