Sebastian Ioan Burduja was relieved, upon request, from the position of Secretary of State in the Ministry of Public Finance, by decision of the interim Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă published this Wednesday in the Official Gazette, reports Agerpres.

By another decision of the interim prime minister, Cristina-Daria Buzaşu-Enache was released, upon request, from the position of councilor of state within the Prime Minister’s Chancellery.

Sebastián Burduja entered Parliament, being in an eligible place on the NLP list in the Chamber of Deputies.

“It is an honor for me to start the term of deputy in the Romanian Parliament, on behalf of the National Liberal Party, on Monday. Today I received the verification certificate from the Electoral Office of District 42 – Bucharest, in which I was elected. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the people of Bucharest who gave me the vote and trust. I will not disappoint you.

The post of deputy in the Romanian Parliament is incompatible with my current position as Secretary of State in the Ministry of Public Finance. Thus, I presented my resignation to the Prime Minister of Romania, as a gesture of normalcy, because on Monday I will assume my mandate in Parliament. I could have stayed a maximum of 15 days, but it did not seem normal to me to receive two salaries or occupy two incompatible positions, not even for a short period.

It has been an extremely interesting year, of which I will always be proud and grateful. I am also honored to have been part of this Government and I thank the president of PNL, Ludovic Orban, and the Minister of Public Finance, Florin Cîțu, for their trust and for all that we have built together, together with the extraordinary people in the ministry and in government, “Burduja wrote on Facebook.

Burduja, 34, has been the head of Sector 1 of NLP since last summer.
