Six searches were carried out Sunday evening at Piatra Neamț County Hospital. According to Digi24 sources, prosecutors and police are looking for documents in various hospital offices in relation to the operation and approval of the ATI department that set a fire on Saturday in which ten intubated COVID patients lost their lives.

The searches came after the researchers had already requested documents and documents related to the operation of the intensive care unit. The action may be taken because the investigators urgently need other documents and believe that there is a risk of their destruction or other evidence relevant to the investigation. Another option would be to try to delay the delivery of documents that are considered essential in the investigations.

Neamț County Prefect George Lazăr had stated on Digi24 Sunday morning that the hospital was wrong because it moved the ATI section from the 3rd floor to the 2nd floor without DSP approval.

The Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Superior Court of Cassation and Justice announced that the location of the ATI room where the Piatra Neamț County Hospital fire started was established and that four of the autopsies of the victims were completed. Prosecutors will collect medical devices and equipment for examination, a statement from the Attorney General’s Office said late Sunday.

The investigation at Piatra Neamț County Hospital is led by Giuleşti maternity and collective prosecutors Eduard Mihai Ilie and Marius Iacob.

The hearing of eyewitnesses, especially medical personnel, has already begun and will continue.

Seven other people, including doctor Ioan Cătălin Denciu, who tried to save the sick, are in serious condition.
