To date, 287,062 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus have been confirmed in Romania. Of these, 10,260 were reported only in the last 24 hours. This is the first time that Romania has exceeded the critical threshold of 10,000 daily cases of COVID-19.

Official data also show that 195,971 patients have been declared cured since the beginning of the pandemic.

The number of new cases was reported after processing 38,389 evidence, to which are added another 238 evidence processed before the last 24 hours and submitted until November 6. In total, the number of new cases was 38,627 tests.

Most of the new diseases were recorded in Cluj County (722), followed by Timiș (655). In Bucharest, however, there is a considerable decrease in the number of daily cases: 629.

The highest infection rate is found in Sălaj (6.01), the county followed by Cluj (5.92) and Timiș (5.76). In the Capital, the incidence has increased to 4.5 cases per thousand inhabitants, in the last 14 days.

123 deaths in the last 24 hours

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 7,663 people infected with coronavirus have died. From yesterday alone until today, 123 deaths were recorded (69 men and 54 women).

Of these, one death was recorded in the age group 20 to 29 years, two deaths, in the age category 40 to 49 years, 13 deaths, in the age category 50 to 59 years, 36 deaths, in the age category 60-69 years, 36 deaths, in the age category 70-79 years and 35 deaths, in the category over 80 years.

According to the assessment, 119 of the patients who died in the last 24 hours had comorbidities. So far, no other conditions have been reported for the other four.

At present, 12,133 patients are hospitalized in the COVID departments of Romanian hospitals. Of these, 1,001 are hospitalized in serious condition in Intensive Care.
