Romania is currently preparing to start vaccination on December 27, announced the chairman of the National Committee for the Coordination of Vaccination Activities against COVID-19, Col. Dr. Valeriu Gheorghiță. The military doctor also specified that the people who will be vaccinated against COVID will receive a certificate that will contain the date of vaccination, the type of vaccine, the series and the batch.
“Romania is currently prepared to start vaccination on December 27,” Valeriu Gheorghiță announced on Wednesday, in a meeting with journalists.
He says the moment will be “historic” in both senses: if successful or “unlikely” if not successful.
“At this moment, the Cantacuzino Institute is properly equipped to receive the vaccine. At the moment, the other six storage centers are being prepared; Starting tomorrow (Thursday, no), the freezers will start at minus 80 degrees for each regional storage center. All equipment is purchased (…) The storage capacity is one and a half million doses in Cantacuzino and another 200,000 doses in the regional centers ”, says the president of the National Committee for the Coordination of Vaccination Activities, according to Mediafax .
He mentioned that the first vaccinated people will be part of the medical staff of the first ten COVID-19 hospitals.
Valeriu Gheorghiță says that for 60-70% of the population the campaign should last six to seven months.
At the same time, the president of the National Committee for the Coordination of Vaccination Activities affirms that the degree of acceptance of vaccination is 70% for doctors and about 50% for nurses in non-COVID hospitals for vaccination and doctors in COVID hospitals greater than 95%.
People vaccinated against COVID will receive certificates
The head of the National Committee for the Coordination of Vaccination Activities added that the people who will be vaccinated against COVID will receive a certificate with the date of vaccination, the type of vaccine, the series and the batch.
“It will be a forensic document that will contain the vaccination date, the type of vaccine, the series and the batch. The vaccination certificate will be issued both on paper, in Romanian and English, delivered at the time of vaccination or in electronic format. It will be like a ticket to leave the hospital ”, explained the military doctor.
He said that for now, there is no question that unvaccinated people will be subject to conditions or restrictions.
