Romania started the dispute with Norway with great confidence. Bogdan Burcea’s students scored in the first 4 attacks, mainly due to the connection between Cristina Neagu and center Lorena Ostase. Norway did not panic, took the lead, although star Nora Mork was invisible, just one goal in action.

Romania wanted Poland in the main group of the European Women’s Handball Championship. It would have meant that the “tricolor” entered the next phase of the competition with two points. Norway, the most tied team in the history of the European Women’s Handball Championship

The Norwegian team’s record is sensational. Norice won two Olympic titles (2008 and 2012), three world titles (1999, 2011 and 2015) and 7 gold medals at the European Championships (1998, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2014, 2016).

Romania also has 3 world titles in its history, but in a completely different time (1956, 1960 and 1962). The most recent performance is the 2015 world bronze. In Europeans, the “tricolor” have only one medal, the 2010 bronze.
