Romania has exceeded the threshold of 3,000 infections in 24 hours

There have been 3,130 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, a troubling new record for coronavirus infections since the start of the pandemic. Additionally, 44 other Romanians died due to the COVID-19 disease. There are 607 Covid patients in intensive care.

To date, on October 8, in Romania, 145,700 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

113,112 patients were declared cured.

Following tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 3,130 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

Apart from the recently confirmed cases, after retesting the patients who were already positive, 584 people were positively reconfirmed.

To date, 5,247 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

Between 07.10.2020 (10:00) – 08.10.2020 (10:00) 44 deaths (28 men and 16 women) were reported, of some patients infected by the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Gorj, Iași, Maramureș, Olt, Prahova, Teleorman, Timiș, Vaslui, Vrancea and Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age group 40 to 49 years, 2 deaths in the age group 50 to 59 years, 10 deaths in the age category 60 to 69 years, 19 deaths in the age category age 70 to 79 years and 12 deaths in the category of over 80 years.

All deaths were in patients with comorbidities.

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 8,491. Of these, 607 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 2,598,262 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 30,191 were performed in the last 24 hours, 18,626 based on the definition of the case and medical protocol and 11,565 upon request.

In Romania, 13,325 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are isolated in their homes and 7,989 people are in institutional isolation. In addition, 25,603 people are in home quarantine and 9 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 1,865 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 2,421 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially to inform citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 05/15/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 4,385 penalties for minor offenses, worth 593,137 lei.

Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, 3 crimes were found yesterday to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where infractions to health protection regulations can be notified.

The calls are answered by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified matters.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 6,770 Romanian citizens were infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,917 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2,999 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain. , 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the US, 121 in Austria, 21 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 93 in Greece, 9 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 7 in the United Arab Emirates and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Republic of the Congo, Hungary and Qatar.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo and one in Greece, they have died.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
