Article 1. As of May 15, 2020, a state of alert will be declared nationwide for a period of 30 days.

Article 2. Prevention and control measures are established in the annex to this Decision.

Article 3. The rules for carrying out activities that do not require specific health protection measures shall be adopted by joint order of the Ministry of Health and the Minister with jurisdiction in the field.

Article 4. For other measures other than those provided for in Article 3, the public and central authorities issue regulatory acts and administrative acts in accordance with the competition rules and the fields of activity they administer.

Article 5. In application of the provisions on emergency medical reserves and some measures related to the establishment of quarantine, the Secretary of State, Head of the ESD, will order, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the necessary measures to combat infections by SARS-CoV-2.

Flights suspended during alertness

The flight suspension measure for all airports in Romania extends for a period of 14 days. The international transport of people for regular and international services will be suspended until June 1, 2020.

The measure extends to Austria, Italy, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain, the United States, Turkey, Iran and from these countries, for a period of 14 days from May 15.

International passenger road transport is suspended for all trips to Italy, France, Germany, Spain and Turkey until June 1.

Isolation at home for those who come from abroad.

It is established, from May 15, for all people who come to Romania from abroad, the measure of the isolation of the house, along with the family or relatives with whom they live, and for those who do not have the possibility of meet the conditions for the measure mentioned above or request it. In order not to expose his family, one can opt for the institutionalized quarantine measure in specially designated spaces provided by the authorities.

In other words, from tonight, from the moment of publication, those who arrive in the country, regardless of where they come from, apply the isolation measure at home for them.

Those who violate isolation in the home will be quarantined, with the costs of quarantine for 14 days.

Partial or total closure of border crossings will be maintained:Turnu, Salonta, Săcuieni, Valea lui Mihai (excluding freight traffic), Carei, Negru Vodă, Zimnicea, Turnu Măgurele, Bechet, Sighetu Marmației, Rădăuți Prut, Oancea, Porțile de Fier, Orșova, Dr, Tr Severin, Moldova Nouă , Naidiș, Stamora Moravița, Foeni, Jimbolia.

Prime Minister Ludovic Orban announced that he had convened the National Committee for Emergency Situations to establish a state of alert as of Friday at 0 o’clock.
