“The first message for retirees is that pensions will increase next year and in future years. The increases that we will make will be based on calculations that demonstrate the seriousness with which the Government addresses this issue ”, announced Violeta Alexandru.
The Labor Minister could not specify by what percentage the pensions will increase because he cannot say what the situation of budget income is.
“When the Finance Ministry has an assessment of the budget revenue, it will be very clear what the budget is for to support a certain amount of increase next year.
We are concerned about this issue. It is not just a political statement, it is a reality, given the confirmation that we have just made with the increase of 14 percent this year in which the economic situation was well known ”, explained Violeta Alexandru.
“The PSD has made an increase in the pension law, but has not actually put it into practice,” said the labor minister.
He criticized the PSD for passing in Parliament the law that increased pensions by 40 percent, but did not put it into practice.
“The fact that NLP has increased this year shows that those who are serious are the liberals.
The PSD increased the pension law, but did not actually implement it, when Romania’s economic situation was incomparable to the current one.
Increasing pensions should be a well-founded decision because once you do it and put it into practice, you cannot go back. You don’t play with people’s pensions, ”the minister also said.
Violeta Alexandru is optimistic about the return of the economy
“We all see what is happening in the Romanian economy. Things are showing signs of improvement. If I look at REVISAL at the number of active employees, I see a comeback and it can only give me great hope and somehow a reward for all this work. this year.
There are more than 7,000 more active employees in October than in September. It is a ray of hope and encouragement (…) Of course we must continue our efforts. I’m not telling you this as an excuse. Perhaps it is really the hardest year that a government has had to manage and we strive to maintain the balance and, at the same time, make sensible and justified increases towards the needs of the people ”, the Minister of Labor also explained.
People can retire two years earlier in some polluted localities in Romania. The law was promulgated by Klaus Iohannis
“They will not lose anything. The period of the contribution period for those who work under special conditions has really changed,” said Violeta Alexandru, referring to the law that allows Romanians from certain localities to retire earlier.
