The US Department of Defense announced that three senior members resigned the day after US President Donald Trump ousted Defense Minister Mark Esper.

According to the DPA, cited by Agerpres, the three are James Anderson, head of the Pentagon’s policy department, Joseph Kernan, deputy defense minister for information, and Jen Stewart, head of the defense minister’s office.

Among those filling the vacancies is Anthony Tata, a retired brigadier general who has made controversial comments about Islam and former Democratic President Barack Obama. My father will take over as head of the Pentagon’s policy department, while Kash Patel, a former adviser to Congressman Devin Nunes, will become the minister’s chief of staff.

Current US President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he had fired Defense Minister Mark Esper, and apparently used the final months of his White House term to settle scores within his administration, the DPA notes.

The decision was not entirely unexpected, given the public differences between Trump and Esper on various issues in recent months. Mark Esper has been preparing for some time for the prospect of his resignation or impeachment after the Nov.3 election, especially if Trump wins a second term.

I hope you have angered Donald Trump by opposing the president’s threat to dispatch active military to suppress the anti-racism protests that rocked America this summer. In addition, Mark Esper did not agree with Trump’s disrespectful attitude towards NATO, the sources also noted.
