Record of deaths and serious illnesses due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours

In the last 24 hours, 1,053 new cases have been registered, of the 22,320 tests carried out. Another 60 people died due to coronavirus infections, a new record for deaths in Romania. In addition, 522 patients are hospitalized in Intensive Care, the highest number since the start of the pandemic.

To date, on September 1, in Romania, 88,593 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

38,454 patients were declared cured and 11,175 asymptomatic patients were discharged 10 days after detection.

Following nationwide testing, compared to the last report, 1,053 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were recorded, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

Aside from the newly confirmed cases, after retesting the already positive patients, 586 people were positively reconfirmed.

To date, 3,681 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

Between 31.08.2020 (10:00) – 01.09.2020 (10:00) there were 60 deaths (35 men and 25 women), of some patients infected by the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Brăila, Brașov, Buzău, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Giurgiu, Gorj, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Neamț, Olt, Vaslui,, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age category 30 to 39 years, 2 in the category 40 to 49 years, 6 deaths were recorded in the age category 50 to 59 years, 16 deaths in the age category from 60 to 69 years 18 deaths in the age group 70 to 79 years and 17 deaths in the category of over 80 years.

58 of the deaths registered are of some patients who presented comorbidities, 1 deceased patient did not present comorbidities and for 1 deceased patient, no comorbidities have been reported to date.

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7,164. Of these, 522 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 1,825,272 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 22,320 were performed in the last 24 hours, 13,517 based on the definition of the case and medical protocol, and 8,803 upon request.

Likewise, since the last information made by GCS, the results of 6 tests processed before the last 24 hours and delivered until September 1 have been reported.

In Romania, 9,294 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated at home and 5,880 people are institutionally isolated. Additionally, 32,434 people are in home quarantine and 71 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 960 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 701 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially to inform the public.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55 of 05.15.2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 639 penalties for minor offenses, amounting to 106,300 lei.

Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday 2 crimes were found to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where infractions to health protection regulations can be notified.

The calls are answered by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified matters.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 6,590 Romanian citizens were infected by COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,898 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2,935 in Germany, 158 in Great Britain, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the US, 111 in Austria, 20 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 19 in Greece , 5 in Cyprus, 2 in India and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Sweden, Republic of the Congo, Hungary and Qatar.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo and one in Greece, they have died.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 338 were declared cured: 308 in Germany, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
