On Friday, President Klaus Iohannis signed the decree for the termination of the service relations of the Quaestor Cătălin Ioniţă of the Interior Ministry.

According to G4Media.ro, the former head of the Anticorruption General Directorate retired at age 44.

On August 26, the Ministry of the Interior announced that he had been relieved of the position of head of the General Anti-Corruption Directorate, since he no longer had the authorization to access classified information from the Office of the National Registry of Secret State Information, necessary for the exercise of the function.

The Presidential Administration announced on Friday that President Klaus Iohannis signed “the decree on the termination of the service of Mr. Ioniţă Alexandru-Cătălin, Chief of Police of the Ministry of the Interior,” according to News.ro

“The general director of the General Anticorruption Directorate has been relieved of his position, as he does not have the authorization to access classified information from the Office of the National Registry of State Secret Information, necessary for the exercise of the function. Currently, the official places himself at the disposal of the Ministry of the Interior to establish other professional powers, ”the Ministry of the Interior announced then.

The management of the General Anticorruption Directorate is ensured, according to the attributions of the description of functions, by the deputies of this structure.
