According to the representatives of the Bistrita Gendarmerie, on Wednesday night, in Bistrita, there was an electoral activity where several people did not comply with the public health measures imposed by law, reports Mediafax.

Although they were instructed in this regard at the beginning of the activity by the Gendarmerie crew at the site, the participants did not comply with the measures.

“A number of 18 people were legitimized and penalized for minor offenses. 22 penalties were applied for a total of 16,400 lei, as follows: 18 penalties for a total of 12,500 lei and 4 penalties for a total of 3,900 lei”, they announced the representatives of the Bistrita Gendarmerie.

According to the local press, which cites images from Facebook, the sanctions occurred during an electoral action by the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR).

Election events can only be organized if the health protection rules are observed. Therefore, participants must wear a protective mask in all indoor or outdoor elections. Additionally, up to 20 people can participate in indoor events, and the maximum event duration is two hours.

50 people can participate outdoors if the organizer provides four square meters for each participant. In the case of actions carried out on the street, the groups cannot have more than 6 people, and for door-to-door actions, the teams will have two members each.
