The Bihor County School Inspectorate filed a criminal complaint on behalf of the Oradea sports teacher, for thwarting the fight against disease, after urging students not to comply with measures against the spread of COVID-19. In fact, the Ministry of Education must decide what measures are required in the case of this teacher. Prime Minister Ludovic Orban also had a reaction.
Journalist: How do you see the gesture of the sports teacher from Oradea, who encouraged the students not to wear a mask at school?
Ludovic Orban: “It should be sanctioned without discussion. This is a legal obligation, wearing a mask in school is mandatory, it is the main way to protect the health of our children, and if a teacher encourages children not to wear a mask, in my opinion, they should drop out of school.
“At the school level, a disciplinary investigation procedure was initiated for that teacher. ISJ Bihor has filed a criminal complaint for thwarting the fight against disease. The Ministry of Education and Research holds teachers, parents and students accountable for complying with all health regulations. They are precisely for the protection of all, and teachers should be the first examples in school, just as parents are the first examples in the family. „After the appearance in public space, on 09/23/2020, of the images related to the High School teacher with the Bihorul Oradea Sports Program, who instigated during the classes, the use of the protective mask by the students of the educational units at the LEI level. Bihor took the measure to verify the situation presented.
On this occasion, it was established that the professor in question violated the legal provisions on health protection and the measure was taken to punish an infraction with a fine (2,500 lei), according to the previous one. Art. 65 letter h of Law No. 55/2020, reported in art. 1 Annex 2 of GD 782/2020, for not wearing a protective mask in closed public spaces / at work.
At the same time, the Bihor County School Inspectorate filed a criminal complaint under the aspect of committing the crime of thwarting the fight against diseases, previous writing. and ped. of art. 352 Penal Code, ”transmitted IPJ Bihor.
