President Klaus Iohannis participates in the test trip by train on the railway connection Gara de Nord – Airport ‘Henri Coandă’.

The Prime Minister Ludovic Orban and the Minister of Transport, Lucian Bode, also participate in the test trip by train on the railway connection Estación Norte-Airport ‘Henri Coandă’.
Minister Lucian Bode declared last week that the Gara de Nord – Otopeni Airport railway line will be put into operation in December.
According to CFR SA, the new railway to the airport departs from the connection zone (ex Haltă Odăile) for about 600 meters, the route continues with a consolidation area, 900 meters long, and a 1.52 kilometer viaduct, which crosses DN1, to the new passenger station, from the arrivals terminal of the international airport ‘Henri Coandă’. The railway was installed along the entire route, with the construction company currently carrying out the last drilling and mechanical profiling works.
The project ” Modernization of the Bucharest North Railway Line – ‘Henri Coandă’ Bucharest International Airport – PHASE I: CF Connection at Terminal T1, ‘Henri Coandă’ Bucharest International Airport ‘foresees the construction of a simple railway in a 2.95 km long, with three bridges, a 1.52 km long viaduct (37 piles and abutment) that crosses DN1 and a CF station, with a double line, in Terminal T1.
The value of the contract is 398.1 million lei. The source of funding is non-reimbursable European funds.
