President Iohannis should probably be suspended by the NAC. PAH, on “the new Dan Diaconescu from Cotroceni TV” | Reviews | Freedom

It is not the first time that the president ignores both the letter and the spirit of this paragraph that establishes that the president acts as a mediator between the powers of the State and between the State and society.

And on Tuesday night, as in almost every public appearance in his reign in recent months, Romania’s President Klaus Werner Iohannis seized the Romanian Constitution, removed Article 80, paragraph 2, and pretended not to exist.

But like Tuesday night, it seems Klaus Iohannis has never shown more contempt for his royal role.

On Tuesday night, Klaus Iohannis began his speech by attacking the PSD, outright, grinding his teeth under his mask. In fact, the entire speech, which lasted more than 15 minutes, was nothing more than a filthy attack on one parliamentary party and an electoral campaign for another parliamentary party, the party that also leads the government.

It does not make much sense to talk about the Constitution. It needs to be changed, of course. But until it is changed, which will not happen too soon because the necessary majority that existed between 2012 and 2014 will never be fulfilled again, the Constitution must be respected. Such are the laws, even the fundamental ones. As long as they are in force, they are respected or we assume the consequences.

Failure to comply with the Constitution has no criminal or civil consequences, but there are other laws that were violated tonight by Klaus Iohannis.

We are on an electoral campaign. It’s been over two weeks and we have almost two weeks left. The television appearances of the candidates and their supporters are regulated with great precision both in the law and in the decisions of the National Audiovisual Council.

Normally, Klaus Iohannis cannot appear on television to promote NLP, for 15 minutes, without the televisions that broadcast this long electoral clip being sanctioned by the CNA for breaking the law.

But Klaus Iohannis doesn’t care. It has and is its own television. It is filmed by the employees of the Presidency, and televisions and websites take the signal directly from the presidency.

Not only does he rush into the electoral campaign himself, but he also forces the employees of the presidential institution to become illegally involved in the electoral campaign, working for the direct benefit of a political party during his work program during the presidency. Liviu Dragnea was sentenced to prison for this, because he was accused of the fictitious employment of two people who, in fact, worked for the party. What do we do with the employees of the Presidency who, every week, work for the PNL to make these crazy electoral videos?

And why doesn’t CNA take any action?

Yes, neither Klaus Iohannis nor the Romanian Presidency have a television broadcasting license. But the president is, at fixed hours, with his own means of production (of the state, in fact) in all the news televisions, at least, being later assumed in the news of the generalist televisions.

We are talking about an anomaly, a Romanian trick, a trick whereby the guarantor of balance in Romanian politics escapes his duties and violates everything he can violate, without any shame.

We are in a position to listen to him, demanding respect for the law, a citizen who believes himself superior to it and who does not mind making fun of the fragile freedoms and balances that he has won and built with difficulty in almost 31 years. Of a few televised appearances, Klaus Iohannis dismissed the idea of a modest president, a president who does not claim that he, only he, leads the country, according to his mind and training. Because all Klaus Iohannis speeches inevitably contain verbal constructions such as “I and the government did it”, “I decided”, etc.

The president cannot be suspended by Parliament for that alone, because we have a weak and fragile constitution. But the CNA should, however, suspend the broadcast of this pirate television, to calm this new Dan Diaconescu from Cotroceni TV, who is not at all interested in his hunger for audience, money and power leading to the marked degradation of Romanian society.
