The patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, Daniel, announced on Sunday the launch of the website Pictamcatedrala.ro, a support platform for painting the National Cathedral, reports Agerpres.

It is a great joy and a great opportunity to be a contemporary of this holy work, which will last for centuries as praise to God and as protection of the Romanian people. For a long time time, those who help to build and paint the cathedral are mentioned here, in the Patriarchal Historic Cathedral, but also in the New Cathedral, in the National Cathedral or the Cathedral of the Salvation of the Nation. The new Pictamcatedrala.ro site, which aims to be “a tool to visualize painting as a whole”, describes the work already carried out and the ways to support the continuation of the painting project of the building. The site contains news about the status of the works, photos and videos of the workshop activity in which the mosaic icons are prepared before installation, as well as the possibility of donating online.
The coordinator of the paintings, Daniel Codrescu, told Trinitas TV that the site was designed both to help people who want to participate effectively through donations, and “for the moral support of the project, building a community around it. Cathedral”.
