Parliamentary elections, UPDATE 08.00 – Senate partial results, after counting 95.97% of the votes:

  • PSD – 29.67%
  • NLP – 25.57%
  • USR-PLUS – 15.51%

  • Pro Romania – 4.17%

Voting abroad in the elections for the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies ended at 748 polling stations, with the closing of the last polling stations on the west coast of the United States and Canada at 7:00 a.m., Romania time, announces the MFA.

The Alliance for the Union of Romanians, AUR, scored very well in the diaspora. After counting more than 58% of the votes from abroad, George Simion’s party obtained 26.51% of the votes.

Only USR PLUS has a better score than GOLD so far. The partial results show that they were voted by 29.09% of Romanians who went to the polls abroad.

The third place is occupied by PNL, with 25.52% of the votes.

Parliamentary elections, UPDATE 00.10 – BEC partial results, 53% of the polling stations: The difference between PSD and PNL is almost 6%. Pro Romania and PMP do not have 5%

After the centralization of more than half of the minutes, the difference between the first two positions, respectively between PSD and PNL, is six percent, and five parties will enter the future Legislature. The data shows that PMP and Pro Romania did not cross the electoral threshold of 5%.

Immediately after the polls close, Mediafax.ro presents the first available exit poll in Romania, for the 2020 parliamentary elections. The results of the CURS-Avangarde exit poll were announced on Sunday at 9:00 p.m. hours, immediately after the polls close, on the ul mediafax.ro website. The results of the exit poll do not take into account the votes of the diaspora, being the poll conducted only for the polling stations of the Romanian territory.

Avangarde and CURS are the institutes accredited by the Central Electoral Bureau to carry out the only exit poll in the Romanian parliamentary elections on Sunday, December 6.

The official results of the 2020 parliamentary elections will be announced by the BEC after the polls close. As with other elections, the Central Electoral Office will communicate official statistics and information on the outcome of parliamentary elections hour by hour, as the votes are counted and centralized.

2020 parliamentary elections – VOTE for 465 deputies and senators

Parliamentary elections are held every four years and 465 parliamentarians will be elected by vote: 136 senators and 329 deputies. They will represent the citizens of each county in the country, but also Romanians abroad or national minorities.

According to the law on parliamentary elections, the number of seats in each county is decided according to the population. Thus, a deputy represents 73,000 inhabitants and a senator 168,000 inhabitants.

According to this calculation, the majority of the representatives of the legislature will come from Bucharest (13 senators and 29 deputies), followed by Iasi (5 senators and 12 deputies) and Constanta and Prahova (5 senators and 11 deputies). The counties with the fewest representatives are Covasna, Călăraşi, Giurgiu, Ialomiţa, Mehedinţi, Sălaj and Tulcea (2 senators and 4 deputies each).
